Promoting sports through nature in rural areas
UNDERSTANDING THE CONTEXT
FIRST STEPS
We launched a survey to study the characteristics of sports practices in the natural environment surrounding the municipality of Ares, addressing both inland and coastal municipalities. We also delved into the degree of accessibility of these activities for people with functional diversity
THE PROJECT
Sporural is an initiative aimed at developing outdoor sports as a top-level tourist attraction in rural areas. It does so by proposing sustainable sports activities and promoting the exchange of knowledge among the four agents that make it up.
OBJECTIVES
Promote the development of municipal sports policies in rural areas.
Rationalize and optimize public and private resources for sports activities in the municipalities of the province.
Relate sport with tourism and its different manifestations: green tourism or ecotourism, rural tourism, inland tourism, adventure tourism, agrotourism.
Design new leisure and free time alternatives.
Facilitate and promote the existence of sports with low environmental impact.
Facilitate and promote greater citizen participation in these sports activities within the educational framework offered by nature.
PARTNERS
(Galicia, Spain)
The Ares town hall is the highest governing institution in the locality, an organ with representation of the people to promote public policies in different fields, from sports to culture, infrastructure or the environment.

A sports Cultural Association that is dedicated to advising clubs on aspects of youth training, working with Youth Associations providing different activities that promote outdoor activity, healthy habits and an active lifestyle.

EAS SEGAS CYCLADE is a Union of Athletics Clubs. Established
in 2000, it is the sole
representative of the National Athletics Federation of Greece
in Cyclades, sub-region in the
South Aegean Sea.

an NGO active in the area of Nagykovacsi and its
surrounding Pilis region in the field of promoting healthy lifestyle and popularizing nature sports.
